QUEENSLAND RAIL TRAILS

The Longest Rail Trail Ride in Australia

Starting in Kilkivan and finishing in Wulkuraka (Ipswich), I am planning on riding a bicycle along two of Queensland’s Rail Trails. The Kilkivan to Kingaroy Trail (South Burnett Rail Trail) (89km), the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (161km), and the Link Trail (55km) which links the two together.

The ride will take me up the Brisbane valley, traversing through farmland, forests, picturesque rural settings and country towns. Being on the old railway line, the trails will provide an off-road climb up the valley. The ride itself will cover over 310km (192.625 miles).

After walking the full length of New Zealand two and a half years ago and riding a bicycle around the state of Tasmania last year, both to raise awareness and money for nystagmus. This December I will be riding a bicycle along Australia’s longest rail trails for the same cause. For this new adventure I will have only 2 days to complete the feat. And I will be keeping you updated along the way as I journey my way around Australia’s stunning Rail Trails.
